DPS Interview Write Up

My interview will be presented on my double page spread in continuous prose. My reasoning behind this is because it is most conventional for a magazine aimed at a maturing audience as it isn't as easy a read. It's also more visually pleasing as it tends to look neater, therefore it will fit well with my simplistic theme.

Main Title: "I'm back and better than ever" … Bebe Lopes on the release of new album 'Discovery'.

Bebe is back after a near 5 years time out from her then booming musical career and her interview with us spoke nothing less than excitement at that very fact. As we all know, the latest few years of her career before her break were anything but unsuccessful. Bebe won 4 MTV awards at the end of 2012, 5 Teens Choice wards between 2012 and 2013 and major positivity towards her booming charity that campaigns for the empowerment of young girls of todays society. Setting up this campaign resulted in recognition from The Queen herself and there was some talk of the possibility of an OBE.

During those 5 years, fans on social media started to question her whereabouts as Bebe became less active on platforms such as Twitter and Instagram- a peculiar thing to come about seeing as those were the two social media sites she couldn't stop posting on before – fans bound together via the internet to come up with theories as to what may have happened. Bebe says "One [theory] was – and bless their souls- that I had developed a severe case of arthritis in every part of my body suddenly, got stuck on my sofa and was unable to get help move or tweet what had happened. I have to say that one did make me chuckle"

After a few months of little or no online activity, Bebe's fans learn to accept it and the buzz around her dissolves. She was rarely spotted in public and when she was, the purpose was the mundane activity of popping to the shops for say a pint of milk.
5 years later the star is 21 years old and feels ready to steal back her limelight. So we finally asked her the many unanswered questions we've all been dying to hear.
Many thought up theories, yet we want to know which is true. As Bebe chuckled to herself at the creativity of her fans she said that it in fact wasn't arthritis, she just felt as though she needed time to "focus on the life she was making for [her]self outside of the fame" When we asked her what specifically that meant, she happily confessed she "felt lonely and wanted to find someone to have a healthy relationship with". After her previously abusive relationship of 3 years, who can blame her?
We asked if she was reading what her fans were saying about her or seeing their concern for her to which she explained at the beginning she felt "obligated to but my life eventually became a digital free zone as I was visiting family in rural parts of England and I quite enjoyed the clear head it gave me". To us, it sounded as though she lost care for her fans and when brought up in the interview she quickly exclaimed how "[she] always cares for each and every fan, it's just they reassured [her] they were going to be okay and supported [her] decision".

It would be very unlikely for her to stroll back into the celebrity atmosphere without making a grand entrance and so over those 5 years she wrote songs for her new album 'Discovery'. "Originally I intended for them to be private songs, however my family loved them so much I decided to release them."
We asked her how she would describe her album and she simply replied "the epitome of the journey that the last 5 years has taken me through, truly magical."
